The Best Home Spa

What a treat we had tonight!  It was about 10pm, I just laid down to veg out on facebook for awhile after a LONG hell week of online school, packing up my classroom, updating grades for report cards and checking in with middle school parents when my 13 and 8 year old daughters come in to invite me to a spa night they planned.  I admit, I was reluctant to participate but they seemed really excited about it so I agreed without any idea how many details these girls put into the night.  They also invited their dad who was much more excited than me at the time. Let me tell you--IT WAS FABULOUS!!!  In fact, it was so AWESOME, I told them once this quarantine was over they should start a little business hosting spa nights at our house on weekends.

Look at all this stuff they had ready!  Diffuser with essential oils, cucumbers, aromatheraphy lotion, all kinds of nail care stuff, and ice cold water--which I totally would've drank if Nifai hadnt stuck his hands in it right before.  Sheesh.  They even had relaxing spa music playing on the with a waterfall trickle sound in the background and image on the computer.  They thought of everything!

They started us out with a facial steam to "open up the pores" Lia explained.

Then they had two face masks to choose from:  lavender clay mask or oatmeal honey mask.
Lia chose the oatmeal.

I chose the lavender clay.

Neither David or Nifai wanted to do face mask so they ate sandwiches LOL!

Then  the girls gave us sliced cucumbers to put over our eyes.
We did this for 15 minutes and it WAS  RELAXING!
I don't remember having done that before but it really leaves a cooling sensation on your eyes.

After their sandwiches, David and Nifai started their foot spa bath.
Those are Nifai's hands on the controls.

Nifai liked the idea of the water jets and bubbles, he had to try it out for himself--but not by himself...

He jumped in with everyone that did their feet.

He got REALLY comfy down there.

They added an epsom salt/baking soda mixture to the spa bath to soften the feet.

AND they made a sugar scrub for our lips!
My lips were so soft, David said it was like kissing a baby's butt.  It weirded him out LOL.

Lastly, NAILS!

Lia actually does a phenomenal job with polygel nails.  She has become almost a pro since quarantine began because it has allowed her more time to practice her skills. I don't like the upkeep and maintenance of fake nails, or more accurately, I don't know how to function with them on.
So I put just a clear nail polish on with her gel topcoat.

And because Lia does nails all the time, she even has an LED nail dryer.  What the--HECK YES!  And it literally took only a minute for them to dry.

Look at these beauties!  Not bad for a set of hands whose main source of care is a typical file, wash and lotion.

All in all, it was a fabulous evening!  I've never really been the girly type to get all into skin care, nails, and beauty secrets.  But I love that my two beauties helped me see that doing all these things is not only good for your skin and nails, it's also good for mental and emotional release and relaxation.
